What is Yoga for Justice (Y4J)?
Yoga for Justice (Y4J) is an interactive, community-centered learning curriculum that reclaims the ancient practice of yoga as a powerful path toward justice, embodiment, and collective freedom.
Supported by all facets of the Ecosystem, Y4J is dedicated to equipping individuals, organizations, and communities with the tools, language, and practices necessary to create just ecosystems.

The Yoga for Justice (Y4J) 20-Hour Training is designed to deepen your yoga practice through a justice-centered lens, focusing on decolonization, accessibility, and collective healing.
🔹 Live Sessions: 4 live discussions over 6 weeks (recordings available!)
🔹 Yoga Practices: 2 guided practices integrating justice & embodiment
🔹 Grounding Text: Radical Dharma (read in full during the course)
🔹 Learning Platform: Google Classroom with resources, discussions & templates
🔹 Final Project: A reflection on Radical Dharma & Freedom Flow sequence.

Y4J Yoga Teacher Training Program Mission Statement:
The Yoga for Justice (Y4J) Teacher Training program nurtures a community of yoga teachers committed to using their practice as a force for social transformation. This program prepares culturally competent, justice-oriented teachers who confront the world as it is and envision what it can be.
Our Ashtanga-based program integrates teachings from various traditions, including Rocket, Kemetic, Power, and Restorative yoga, with specialized training in:
Functional anatomy & physiology
Trauma-informed care
The business of yoga
Yoga to combat social injustice
Prenatal and children's yoga
Y4J equips teachers to guide others in life-affirming, accessible, and justice-centered yoga practices.

Modular Learning for Justice-Oriented Yoga Educators
Our micro-credentialing program offers specialized training for yoga educators seeking to deepen their practice and teaching with a focus on using yoga to confront and challenge injustice.
Through 10-, 20-, and 50-hour modules, participants will develop tangible skills and a justice-centered framework for integrating yoga into liberatory and healing spaces.
Requirements:
Our micro-credentialing program is for those with an established teaching-practice as noted by a RYT (designated by Yoga Alliance) or Y4J credential. With some exceptions, we allow non-credentialed practitioners to join our programs. Additionally, you do not need to be an active member of YA for this training.

This introductory module explores the foundational connections between yoga and social justice. Participants will leave with an understanding of the historical, philosophical, and practical intersections of yoga and justice-centered teaching.

✅ Meditation: Reflecting on justice and liberation in practice
✅ Trauma-Informed Teaching: Creating safer, healing-centered yoga classes -
